There are several important issues for this year’s AGM. The Ontario Not For Profit Corporations Act requires that we revise our bylaws by October of this year. This process has been completed and there will be a vote on accepting the revised bylaws.

We have also undertaken several major projects this year and there is still more to be done. There will be a presentation of the proposed Long Term Plan and a vote to accept this plan.

There will be the election of Directors. The following positions are up for election:

Vice President Incumbent Jeff Anzil standing for re-election

Membership Director Incumbent Blaise Buxton stepping down

ATT Director Incumbent Ed Amr standing for re-election

Director at Large Currently vacant

Any members interested in running for these positions should submit their names to the Secretary at secretary@grgc.ca . We will distribute the names of all members interested in running for office to the membership. Please include any biographical information and other information you think is relevant. We will put this information together and distribute it to members so everyone gets an equal chance to make a case for their nomination.

During the year, the Board appointed a Director to fill a vacancy on the Board. This appointment has to be ratified by the membership and is detailed in the Agenda.

The continuing success of the club relies on input from the members. The AGM is one of the most impactful opportunities for you to shape the future of your club. We hope many of you attend and take part in this important process.
