Program for the Day is FULL
We are planning a training day for anyone who would like to try Rimfire Precision Rifle. If you do not know what type of shooting this is, visit: https://grgc.ca/Rimfire-Precision-Rifle
This course should take most of the morning and could run into the afternoon but we will have a barbecue for our participants at the end of the training.
This is for adults and youth shooters over 14 years of age.
Class Content:
1. Zero confirmation at 50 yards. Then we fill find your scope settings for 25, 75 and 100 yards.
2. Practice hitting paper targets at 25, 50, 75 and 100 yards by dialing the scope turrets. Practice using your reticle hash marks to hold over to hit the targets at the same distances.
3. Safety rules and match procedures for shooting a stage.
4. Shooting from different positions and techniques for shooting off props.
5. Proper use of the different gear used by competitors during a match.
6. We will then run everyone through at least three different stages using both the turret dialing and hold over techniques. Shooters will be taught how to shoot the stages and coached as they shoot.
There will be a $10 fee for participants to cover class materials and lunch.
Requirements: A 22lr rifle that has a box magazine. (No single shots or tube magazine fed rifles.) Only bolt or semi-automatic rifles are permitted. The rifle must have a target scope with target turrets in either MRAD or MOA. We will have two loaner rifles for a couple people who want to try this but do not have an appropriate rifle/scope. It would help if you come with a rifle that is already zeroed for 25 or 50 yards to help speed up the first part of the class.
Bring match quality 22lr ammo only. (No bulk copper washed ammo, .17hmr, 22mag or high velocity ammo will be permitted) You will need at least 200 rounds to ensure you have enough for the zeroing, practice and three stages.
Having a bipod is also important but if you do not have one we can use other props to help you zero and manage the prone stages.
